just so you know this transscript is in fact actually 100% accurate
real question why are people suddenly acting like pokemon is a dying franchise and lets go is the change gamefreak needs to revive it. it is literally the highest grossing media franchise currently on planet earth
Well, if you they’re like me, you found Sun and Moon to be the most disappointing Pokemon games to date, followed closely by X and Y, and they’re beginning to worry that if new Pokemon games continue in this vein, the sales may be there but the long term interest will be gone
im not like you at all and thank god for that
The excessive hand-holding and over-the-top “chosen one” feeling killed Sun & Moon for me. I didn’t feel like I was on an adventure because the entire first island out of FOUR was a fricking tutorial. I don’t like being interrupted and checked in on via a cutscene or more forced dialogue every ten minutes. I want to feel like I’m discovering things on my own, not just being directed into it.
I missed the gym system. Defeating a totem Pokémon didn’t have the same weight to it, to me, and wasn’t so much a fun challenge as an annoyance due to just being a buffed normal Pokémon with the ability to call for help. I would rather fight the trainers themselves.
The new (non-Alola-form) pokemon themselves were all generally fine, although it would’ve been cool if they hadn’t revealed literally all of them before the game’s release. It’s all the other clutter I had problems with.
The “this franchise is dying” thing is annoying, but that’s not the same as “this franchise has changed in ways I’m really not fond of”. Clearly, financially pokemon is doing great. That doesn’t make everything they do a fricking masterpiece. And I hate that any kind of criticism is shut down because apparently if another person liked X no one is allowed to say anything different about it. No one can discuss issues they have with the games because someone always chimes in with “well I like this!” like that makes the original comment mean nothing.
I can agree with most people that the live-action Grinch is far from a great movie, but this scene always kills me.
FUNNY BIT OF TRIVIA ABOUT THIS SCENE.
When the Grinch yanks the tablecloth away, everything on the table was supposed to fall. But Jim Carrey did it so expertly, all of the objects stayed right where they were! So the Grinch running back and messing everything up was improvised by Jim =)
THAT’S AWESOME
Also I love the push of the table it’s so extra it’s great
