Turbo from Ralph is good and unexpected villian too and with good subtle hints as well.

You can’t just make a character start being evil with no explanation or foreshadowing or any character hints whatsoever. It makes the viewer feel cheated.
King Candy was already a good villain to begin with, coming off more as a well-intentioned extremist. He gave Ralph what he wanted up front with no strings attached, and then convinced him that doing something bad was indeed for the greater good, then came the twist that he was lying the whole time.
Revealing the fact that he has a secret identity was the icing on the cake.
There are characters I would probably die for but at the
same time I get personally offended when people say “They’re a pure cinnamon
roll who did nothing wrong uwu” like EXCUSE ME, they did a lot of things wrong,
they are a walking dumpster fire, do not deny their crimes.
after you’ve been through like a string of fandoms and you’ve decided your favourite character/s for each one, there will come a day when you will list all your faves from each fandom side by side and look at them carefully and realise
“Character who looks dangerous but is actually harmless” and “character who looks harmless but is actually dangerous” are both well and good, but consider: character who looks dangerous, and actually is, but for a completely different reason than they look like they should be.
And no, I don’t mean like “guy who wears robes with a water motif is actually a fire wizard”. I mean like “seven-foot-tall mountain of gleaming muscle with sword the size of a surfboard strapped to his back is actually the Nine Realms’ most feared lawyer”.
