In my opinion, children and dogs should not be left together unsupervised. NO MATTER THE BREED! Things can turn ugly fairly quickly, even with a parent in the room, though the chances of things turning the worst way possible are much higher if they are alone.
And since everyone is going to be snarky and not take info, have some proof (not for the faint hearted)These are all news articles/news only from the US from the year 1995 to 2010 (because I am not in the mood to go all the way back to the 1800′s, but trust me, they have something on that there too. I am also not putting ALL of them on here because it would take me hours. Taking 1-2 from each year)
April, 1995, a 2 year old girl is mauled to death by her grandmas rottweiler.
June, 1996, an 8 year old boy and his friends were alone with two dogs and were teasing them, which lead to the 8 year old being killed. (wow, this article bothers me.. “suddenly” turned vicious? seriously?)
March, 1999, a 2 week old baby was killed by the grandparents 9 year old airedale terrier.
June, 2003, a 2 year old is killed by the babysitters dog. She left them unsupervised even though the dog had bit two other children, and was sentenced to a year in prison. The dog is said to be a pit bull, though we have no way of knowing since they are very misrepresented.
April, 2004, an 8 year old boy was killed by his fathers four pit bulls (?).
May, 2005, a 4 year old is killed by the family’s 2 dogs. Nobody heard or saw anything.
July, 2010, a 2 year old is killed by his step-grandfathers 3 pit bulls (or BBM). “
Grandfather arrested for manslaughter.[412] The dogs had decapitated the family’s pet Akita and killed the family’s pet Chihuahua and parrot within the prior year. The dogs, which were kept in a garage, had previously shown aggression toward the boy” (the link didn’t work 😦 )

^ click that to read all about the other attacks, they have age and description in each and every story.
Dogs should not be left alone with children.
Children should not be left alone with dogs.
Dogs can not babysit.
Children can not fight the dog if something happens.
Even some of the parents that were in the same room as the attack, were unable to save their children.
The breeds in there range from pomeranians and rat terriers to rottweilers and mastiffs.
The breed doesn’t matter, be a responsible parent and be a responsible dog owner.Alright, so to add to this, is a story I have from when I was 12. It is something I do not talk about a lot.
Thank you for the share. I think it’s so important that people know that it doesn’t matter how sweet and amazing your dog has been, things happen and like i said, they can go wrong so very fast and out of nowhere.
This is so important! As the OP said, kids and dogs should not be left alone unsupervised together. I’ve written a few research papers on BSL for a few law classes, and in my research I’ve found, like OP has so nicely linked to us, that most child bites and most child injuries (and even deaths) have been because Doggy and Baby were together unsupervised. That’s how a majority of child-related dog injuries occur.
Be responsible and watch your kids around your dogs, regardless of breed.

Lengthy article on why the (according to them) 35% gap in college graduation rates is a problem because it denies women suitable fuck partners… NOT BECAUSE IT REPRESENTS A GENERATION OF UNDER EDUCATED MEN…
Meet Feminism.
It’s good to hear from you again, I missed your posts
Hah, don’t go to college unless it’s vital for some important field. I’d hate saying this, but the higher education system is utterly corrupted.
Are men happier working or going to school?
Part of the issue is that boys are discriminated against in school. When they’re treated fairly and taught properly, boys do very well in school just like girls.
I did hate grade school for a multitude of reasons.
Do teachers have biases against boys or are boys just taught in a way that doesn’t work well for them
Both, actually. They’re held to a feminine standard of behavior and it’s been proven that female teachers especially single out boys and embarrass them more. Boys receive a lot more attention in the classroom but it’s usually negative attention whereas girls are given mostly positive attention
Can you link sources for that?
Boys not only catch up to girls when taught using traditional reading methods… they fucking blow them directly out of the water.
Boys taught using synthetic phonics were able to read words significantly better than girls at the age of seven, with all pupils ahead of the standard for their age.
Boys were 20 months ahead while girls were 14 months more advanced than expected.
At the end of the study, boys’ reading comprehension was as good as that of the girls, but their word reading and spelling was better.
Children from disadvantaged areas who received synthetic phonics training kept up with children from well off areas until the seventh year at school, whereas those taught with usual methods fell behind five years earlier.
Now read that again, more carefully this time. Both boys and girls taught using this method did better than the methods we currently use. However, boys did *significantly* better than girls. Consequently, we use the method that is worse for both boys and girls because it’s worse for boys than girls.
And you find this in teacher bias too…
A new study on gender disparities in elementary-school performance — the first study to examine both objective and subjective performance — found that boys were given lower grades than girls, even in cases (such as math and science) where their test scores were either equal to or higher than the girls’ test scores.
It seems like out-and-out discrimination, except there is an interesting wrinkle: teachers didn’t downgrade boys who had identical test scores to girls if they seemed to share the girls’ positive attitude toward learning. In fact, the opposite seemed to occur: the well-socialized boys received a small grade “bonus” for their good behavior relative to other boys, suggesting that teachers may be overcompensating when they encounter boys whose behavior exceeds expectations. In other words, boys who match girls on both test scores and behavior get better grades than girls do, but boys who don’t are graded more harshly.
Boys are viewed as defective girls in our educational system.
So if one group is doing better than another group, they’d rather lower the success of everyone so it’s “equal” than have both groups do really well but one doing better?
Why is “fairness” more important than children’s success?

“This is my bed now.” [video]
That dog is straight up big enough to bite that kid’s head off his shoulders and his parents let him smack the dog in the face to make a cute video for the internet.
This is where “It happened completely out of nowhere we were so shocked!” begins. They’re lucky this animal has as much restraint as it does.
that dog looks so fucking shocked now, and it’ll probably have less patience the next time it happens. what the fuck is wrong with some people.
I could do this to any of my dogs and they wouldn’t bite me.. because they’re trained.. someone should know their dog well enough to know if they’d bite their child. this isn’t abuse, it’s a kid waving his hand and the dog moving.
Kids don’t train dogs, much less very small kids like this one. A good percentage of dog bites come from dogs the victim knew. A good percentage of dog bite victims are children. Because children are at eye level with many dogs, bites on children are therefore usually more severe and disfiguring.
Children as young as this one don’t speak dog. When your dog growls at you to back off, you understand. A screaming happy toddler though? Will happily throw himself on a dog that’s trying to get away from him. Dogs that can play easily and comfortably with an adult don’t always know how to handle children. If children were the same as any other adult, there wouldn’t be any dogs in the shelter that “need to go to a home with older kids” or breeds who “aren’t good with kids.”
Because little kids are loud, uncoordinated, overly trusting and have no concept of personal space. You can teach your kid to deal nicely with animals, or the animals will teach them. Animals usually teach through CORRECTIVE BITING AND SCRATCHING. But when Muffles the bulldog bites a kid in the face, and the kid needs stitches and has a permanent scar, it doesn’t matter that it wasn’t Muffle’s fault.
My dad’s little dog is very polite and well mannered, and she will “play bite” with the adults in the house and do all manner of tricks and loves everyone. But when a toddler comes into the house? She can’t deal. She growls. She threatens. She tries to escape while the toddler keeps trying to get in her face. I can trust the dog not to bite ME, but I can’t trust the dog not to bite in self defense when a little kid invades her personal space.
A dog this big could very easily do serious lasting damage to this kid without even trying. And yet his caretakers think it’s funny to let the kid walk over to a resting dog and start smacking it in the face?
That’s not training. That’s dumb luck. You don’t train the dog not to defend itself. You train the KID to be nice to his pets, starting by not letting him smack them over the face because you think it’s a funny video.
I’m not disagreeing with any of your points I’m just pointing out that the dog was not hit and he did not snap.. that’s it. I understand that dogs can bite, I know that if I pissed off my little dog enough he’d bite, but the freak out right now is over something that didn’t even happen. please everyone teach your kids to not be little shits to dogs because no one plays nice all the time. I wouldn’t ever let a small child near two of my dogs (one is too rough when she plays, and the little one is grouchy), but if I was planning on having a family I’d own a family dog.
The kid makes contact with him at least once, and while it may not have been hard, it doesn’t matter how soft we think it happened, it matters what the dog think happened, and mouthiness like that, even in play, can be dangerous to a tiny tot.
The dog didn’t snap, no, and they’re very lucky he didn’t. This individual dog may be a saint, but people see this, interpret it as “cute”, and may set themselves up for failure in turn because they expect their dog to just take it and be a good family dog. Nobody asked the dog first, is the problem!
The spreading of videos like this normalizes poor kid and animal training. And in a world where dog bites are in the top ten reasons for a child emergency room visit, and dog bites have gone up considerably in the last few decades, it sort of becomes unreasonable to allow it to continue and just assume it will be ok because “hes a good dog.”
I ain’t saying a kid can’t have a dog, but I am saying the kid should know how to speak dog and not get all up in the wheelhouse of an animal that is essentially a wolf.
