In Super Mario 64, Mario’s model is replaced by a low-polygon version whenever he is in motion far away from the camera. Zooming in using an emulator, we can see this up close.
In Super Mario Galaxy, whenever you go into first-person view, Mario’s model undergoes a change for the few frames it takes for the camera to zoom in: he loses his shading and his eyes become blank. Normally this happens in a fraction of a second; here it is slowed down.
this is why I like lady bow so much–all the other species/races in the game trust mario 100% to take care of their shitty problems and are fully against bowser but the boos are just like ehh I dont know about this mario guy we ought to test him and even after all that lady bow is like wow I better come with you because why should I trust you to save my people. and in the end it’s not even tubba blubba holding the star spirit it’s lady bow. she’s like yeah you can have this star spirit after you help us hhhhhhhhhhh. any other race would be like oh mario take this star spirit and do whatever you want with it because we miss peach and the castle but the boos are like fuck the toads when are people going to give a shit about us..oH WAIT NO ONE EVER WILL SO WE HAVE TO COME TOGETHER AND WORK NOT FOR A GENERAL “GOOD” OR “BAD” SIDE BUT FOR WHAT IS GOOD FOR BOOS EVERYWHERE
also they randomly filter out words and replace them with “boo” which is adorable
