I’ve got a game going on Pokemon Pinball Ruby & Sapphire with a score of around 19,500,000,000 points with 8 balls left. My previous highest score was only 13,000,000,000.
This is one of those skills that literally provides me with no benefits in life other than being really good at a GBA pinball game.
Eventual pokemon goals include a team of just dogs so I can truly be a Dog Trainer.
I got past Hau’oli on the plane ride home yesterday and things have picked up much better. Like I can actually play now and it’s more what I was looking for.
I’m still totally screwed in regards to my party, though. Currently I have a Rowlet with a Jolly nature (sacrifices SpAtt for Speed) and a Pikipek (possibly temporary, not sure yet) with a Brave nature (boosts Attack, lowers Speed). Pikipek is gonna be a physical attacker regardless, but that’s also the best choice for Rowlet now too, and I’m going to have both Lycanroc eventually so that’s four out of six pokemon focused on physical over special.
I like Lurantis and Tsareena, no idea about stats for either of those. And the big samurai bug dude is pretty cool but its ability sounds like ass.
I just caught a growlithe and debated adding that one in but it’s got an Attack-boosting nature, too.
I don’t know what I’m doing and this is half of why I waited so long to start playing.
(I’m on mobile and idk how to add a read more sorry)
Okay so about pokemon moon:
How is it I never heard any criticism of how hand-holding the start of this game is? I’ve played two and a half hours and just now gotten to a spot where I can do my own thing and genuinely explore for more than twenty meters before there’s a forced cut scene again.
Like idk about the rest of the game but you can’t do that right up front and think that’s acceptable with zero option to skip tutorials. I know how to catch a f*cking pokemon, you do this every game, I know how a PC works; I’d be totally fine if you let the people at the cafe and store and pc and such explain how they work when I initiate a conversation with them instead of giving me a guided tour against my will. That’s how things usually work in the world. “Oh hey, a new trainer! Just starting out? Want me to give you the run down?” Yes or no. That’s it. Done.
Also, I get it. It’s Alola. It’s ~special~ and ~amazing~ but show don’t tell, guys.
I shouldn’t want to put the game down several times from boredom within the first two hours.
I’m not saying the whole game is shit but they’ve got a lot to make up for at this point and a lot of this gen’s pokemon designs aren’t helping them out any. (There’s some fantastic ones and I give them full credit for those but then there’s basically every alola form and the ultra beasts and holy shit are the ultra beasts overdesigned.)
I literally started pokemon moon today even though I’ve had it since Christmas what the frick is this I’m hearing about ultra sun and ultra moon
when you know your favorite character is about to show up
Me watching a commercial for any new video game: ehhh it’s no Zoo Tycoon 2™
Extended family member: So, are you still doing painting?
Me: Not really, but I still draw from time to time.
Extended family member: Neat! What kinds of things do you draw?
Me: Uhhhhhhhhhhh
These are old, but I was organizing my bug photos and remembered I have a ”fail” folder.
