A while ago when tumblr was running a long-ass survey of what users want out of this site there was a part at the end asking about demographics. One of the very last questions was a “select those that describe you” and it had genders and sexualities, including things like pansexual, I think agender, and one or two less commonly seen ones that I can’t remember specifically. And yet I had to use the “other: please specify” option because no form of “asexual” existed as an option.

I feel petty and annoying being irritated about something like that, but it’s one of the basic sexualities and if you’ve got a list of around 10 gender/sexuality related terms I would have expected that to be one of them. Especially on a survey for Tumblr users. Like I get you cant list every fricking sexuality and gender, especially with all the new ones people keep adding, but asexuality is one of the more common ones and it just bothered me.

I’m taking Comparative Vertebrate Zoology this semester. Two 3-hour labs a week in addition to the regular lecture times.

I’m not too worried about the dissection part. I’ve done a bunch of those including a cat in high school Anat & Phys, so that’s nothing new. I’m kind of excited about it, actually. It’s the lab practicals I’m going to have to work for. It’s gonna be a loooot of studying. Lots of terms.

So I got the Hitchhiker achievement but I had no idea it actually did anything except drop that one whale out of the sky and I thought maybe something would happen if I took it to the whale in the bay? Idk? And all I knew was that more whales kept appearing out of nowhere like I summoned an entire fricking pod of sperm whales

I figured out something new (I mean, new to me, at least) with DesignDoll a minute ago. See this little arrow at the bottom of the screen?

Turns out you can change the color/material of the model.

And you can change the light source by dragging the highlight on the sphere shape next to the color options. Ha!

About the little icons next to the sphere: I have no idea what the cube one at the top does. The second one appears to show or hide the figure’s shadow on the ground, the third one (the grid) shows or hides the grid “ground”, and the bottom cube does something to the way the perspective looks. I’m not sure what exactly it does or what the correct technical term is but it makes it look flat almost.

Also, idk if I’ve mentioned it before but the little yellow bars in the corner of each box are sliders that let you adjust how large or small the icons are, just fyi.
