I know we all love Edna because she’s super fierce and determined and an awesome role model and shit but
do you ever think that she feels intensely guilty over this, having made this suit that lead to the death of this amazing young girl
Maybe there’s a reason she never looks back.
Repeated for emphasis:
Maybe there’s a reason she never looks back.
Edna at the funeral, veiled from head to toe, slowly ripping pages out of her pocket sketchbook and mouthing the words “no capes”
you people are monsters
What the actual fuck oh my god
Think about how appalled Edna must have been. How traumatized. How guilty she must have felt over the death of this young girl.
Then realize that Edna anticipated practically every threat that the Incredibles would run into from Syndrome and built help into their suits. The only logical conclusion is that he contacted her–possibly scores of times. Syndrome was a stalkery fanboy before he turned supervillain. And Edna is THE suit maker for supers, as well as Mr. Incredible. Of course Syndrome would go to her. Edna is the best, and Syndrome would want the best designer for his costume.
Think about all that. Think about the woman who was so horrified and grief-stricken by Stratogate’s death being asked by a supervillain–one who was a genuine threat to supers she cared about–to design his costume.
And then realize that, despite her horror and guilt and rage at the gruesome deaths of Stratogate and other supers, despite her vehement conviction that such deaths should never happen again…
Okay but like even if we ignore the physics behind rebuilding something from rubble, where did Mewtwo get the materials to straight-up redesign it as his own building and make it bigger than it was before? He’s not an architect; how do we know it’s even structurally sound? How did he rebuild the cloning machine without a manual (and somehow improve on it in the process, apparently)? How did he know how to do that?
Actually you know what now that I’m looking at it, it almost looks like Mewtwo literally carved it out of the island itself.
Which I guess answers the question of where the hell all that material came from.
(That still doesn’t answer the other questions, though.)

GIOVANNI YOU AND I BOTH KNOW THIS IS BULLSHIT LIKE HALF OF TEAM ROCKET’S POKEMON ARE MADE UP OF GODDAMN ZUBATS
But they are zubats from around the world.
They actually capture and sell those Pokemon from around the world! They are the Pokemon World’s number one Pokemon Poachers, capturing whatever they can in bulk to sell.
They just use the mostly common / cheap pokemon. You know, since they are so easy to get , it wont matter if they lose a few. They are easily replaced! (Remember how abusive and cruel TR was to pokemon?? Cmon look at their old sprites!) If they dare hurt a rare pokemon that Giovanni wanted, hed have their heads!
Team Rocket had a reason behind all the Rattata and Zubat and whatever else- because they were ‘cheap’. Giovanni could use whatever he wanted, and get whatever he wanted.
TR started the trend of the bad-guys-all-have-the-same pokemon, but not the leaders (and sometimes the admins). Maybe not for the same reasons, but its why all villain teams in future games are like that!
Mewtwo is a Pokémon that was created by genetic manipulation. However, even though the scientific power of humans created this Pokémon’s body, they failed to endow Mewtwo with a compassionate heart.
Mewtwo is the product of decades of genetic engineering. Years of gene decoding, splicing, and cloning gave birth to the strongest and quite possibly the most tragic pokemon to date. What’s more, there are heavy implications that Mewtwo was not just cloned from Mew, but is part human as well.
DNA is the basic component for all genomes. Within the double stranded helix, every bit of information you can think of is present. What texture of hair, what colors you can see, if you have scales, resistance to certain diseases, and anything else you can’t think of that makes you, you is inside the DNA.
Cloning is relatively easy: genetic engineering, on the other hand, is not. The whole intent behind Mewtwo was to create the strongest pokemon possible. This is IV breeding to the extreme. To do this, scientists would have to decode the entire genome sequence of Mew, to determine what traits they wanted to keep, and what not. Keep the strength. Toss the cute. Funnel and focus the psychic ability. Dump the natural innocence.
Once you’ve managed to sequence the DNA and isolate the pieces you want, the next step is extracting it. This is most commonly done through a process called PCR, Polymerase Chain Reaction. This is an extremely specific process that usually involves 20-30 repeated temperature cycles. Because of this, PCR machines have been invented to automate the temperature of the sample in these cycles.
Essentially, the sample is heated quickly such that the DNA strand splits apart. This allows a specially engineered primer to enter in, and locate the target sequence. Think of the primer like a puzzle piece. It only fits one place in the DNA, where it will gladly connect. The primer, however, is just the starting point. Once it attaches, free nucleotides will come in and attach themselves to the primer, creating an extended exact copy of the desired gene sequence, at which point it will leave and the DNA strand will zip itself back together.
After that, the newly-created copies of the target gene sequences can be inserted into another organism. Or more commonly, embyros. The engineered embryo was implanted into Mew, and on February 6th, Mewtwo was born.
This method has been used to create glow in the dark rabbits, Jurassic Park style chicken egg dinosaurs, or the harsh and powerful Mewtwo.
It hides in shadows. It is said that if Gengar is hiding, it cools the area by nearly 10 degrees Fahrenheit.
Last Week, there was an entry on Gengar where we analyzed why Gengar lowers the temperature of the room. To which solkatspacekitties replied:
Well, let’s figure out what happens when you give Gengar a hug. Following the same process as before, and assuming the only heat transfer is between you and Gengar (no heat lost to the air),
Solving for Tf this time,
We now have all the information we need to find what your temperature will be after you give Gengar a hug. Using the following values:
m(G) = 40500 g (taken directly from pokedex) c(G) = 3.5 J/gC (same assumption we made before) T(i,G) = -96.8 C (found in last post) m(y) = 62000 g (average mass of a human) c(y) = 3.5 J/gC (specific heat of human) T(i, y)= 37 C (average human body temperature)
If you hug Gengar, your body temperature will drop to -16 degrees Celsius, or 3.2 degrees Fahrenheit. You would die.
I think its safe to assume that Gengar uses a lot of energy, more than he can get from eating or breathing like we do. Therefore, Gengar uses heat transfer like this to survive.
I want to write a fic where Lilo goes to college and her roommate is Boo from Monsters Inc. Boo is the first person to think Stitch is adorable and cuddly, and Lilo is the first person not to act like “Mike Wazowski” was a weird name for a goldfish. They get on like a house on fire which is kind of bad for Nani’s blood pressure.
But then one night they wake up in the middle of the night because something is in their closet. And the door starts to creak open so Stitch tackles whoever (whatever) is in there. They fall back into the closet, the door slams shut… and when Lilo runs over and opens it there’s nothing but an empty closet.
Then Boo tells Lilo all about this weird thing that happened to her when she was a kid, and how no one ever believed her but she knows it was real.
And cue Lilo and Boo busting into the Monster world to rescue Stitch and wreaking mad havoc in the process.
SEE THIS IS A WORTHY SEQUEL
This needs to happen
Petition for the movie to be hand-drawn in Lilo and Stitch’s style when they’re in the human world, and computer animated once they go through the door into the monster world.
